Immerse yourself in the powerful works of Diego Rivera and discover the vibrant world of Mexican muralism on this walking tour through Mexico City's historic center. Marvel at his monumental works and uncover the stories behind the murals, gaining a deeper understanding of their profound impact on Mexico's cultural and social landscape. Along the way, also see murals by David Alfaro Siqueiros, José Clemente Orozco, and other influential masters whose art captured the social and political pulse of their time.
Diego Rivera, a towering figure in the muralist movement of the 1920’s, used his art not merely for decoration but as a bold platform for social commentary. His murals, characterized by vivid colors, strong lines, and flat forms, brim with symbolism celebrating indigenous cultures, honoring working-class people, and humanizing historical and revolutionary figures. Through his powerful compositions, Rivera sought to inspire reflection and change, shedding light on social injustices and shaping Mexico's cultural narrative.

Cafés, restaurants, bars, and coffee shops abound, making El Centro Historico the hub of Mexico City. We will make stops for a tasty lunch, to imbibe in refreshing beverages, nibble snacks or indulge in sweet treats.
This tour includes a sit-down lunch with a Mexican dish of your choice and a beverage of your choice. Other dishes may be purchased by attendees at any of the several local food stops that we will make during the visits to art galleries.

El Centro Histórico is the heart of the Mexico City, rich in history, culture, and architecture. It is home to the iconic Zócalo, one of the largest public squares in the world. The area showcases a blend of pre-Hispanic, colonial, and modern influences, with ancient Aztec ruins like Templo Mayor coexisting alongside grand Spanish-era buildings.
The vibrant streets of El Centro Historico are filled with museums that will impress any visitor and wow art aficianados.

Transportation to and from our meeting place for the start point and end point of the tour is not included.
Meeting place for this tour will be announced in registration confirmation emails.
